The Arlingtones
The Arlingtones chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society (formerly known as SPEBSQSA) received its charter in 1950, over
half a century ago. Our membership has varied since then, peaking in 1976 at 134 members.
Several members from that time are still with us. With the formation of
new clubs, the dissolution of old clubs, and the increasing mobility of society in general, our membership has waxed and waned. Currently we have about 24 ‘hard core’ members. We would like to rebuild to about 35 enthusiastic members who enjoy singing four part a cappella music and
the camaraderie of a compatible group.
Interested?
We hope you are. If you are, please feel welcome to attend our practices and
our ‘afterglow’. We meet each Monday night at 7:00 PM. All meetings
except for the second Monday of each month are held at the American Legion Hall, on the corner of Douglas and Miner Streets
in Arlington Heights. On the second Monday,
we meet at the Prospect Heights Community Church, 400 North Elmhurst Road (83) between Palatine Road and Camp MacDonald Road
in Prospect Heights.
