The Arlingtones chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society (formerly known as SPEBSQSA) received its charter in 1950, over half a century ago. It became one of the largest barbershop choruses in Illinois, peaking in 1976 at 134 members.  Several members from that time are still with us.  With the formation of new clubs, the dissolution of old clubs, and the increasing mobility of society in general, our membership has waxed and waned.  Currently we have about 30 ‘hard core’ members.  We would like to rebuild to about 35 enthusiastic members who enjoy singing four part a cappella music and the camaraderie of a compatible group.

Interested?

We hope you are.  If you are, please feel welcome to attend our practices and our ‘afterglow’.  We meet each Monday night at 7:00 PM. Meetings except for the second Monday of each month are held at the American Legion Hall, 121 North Douglas (on the corner of Douglas and Miner Streets), in Arlington Heights.  On the second Monday, we meet at the Grace Lutheran Church 1624 E. Euclid Ave. Mt. Prospect (Northwest corner of Euclid and Wolf Rd.) Park in the back lot and use back door.  (See map links below for locations.)

Please check out the following pages to see us at work and play. Then check out the contact page for further information.
