Spring Show 2017

Arrival.jpg
Long, long ago, in a land far away, some of our ancestral barbershoppers set out looking for new lands to which they could bring four-part harmony. Dressed in the furs of native animals such as leopard and zebra, they set forth into the unkown.

Along the way, they saw many strange and wonderous things. A merman was one the first sightings. The very sight of him was amazing but the wonderment only increased when it was discovered that he sang baritone.

But their wonder grew even more when they passed an accordion powered aquatic vehicle.  The proud master of this accordion-powered nautical miracle proved to be...another baritone.

Following the accordion powered craft to its home port, they discovered  others of the same tribe who had gathered to sing in glorious four-part harmony.  This was later to be called barbershop (after barbershops came in to being).

Time would pass and the populace of the new land would expand westward where they would begin to wear sillly hats and funny pants, and to ride on four legged animals (with deflated heads) But they too were to sing in that strange but wonderful four-part harmony.

The native costumes were to change but the harmony was to persist.

.. and persist until...

...it had spread throughout the land.  It could heard in banquet halls, bar rooms, and bawdy houses (so I am told) across the new nation and even in some countries yet to be discovered for the next 500 years,

And what of our intrepid explorers?  Although  they couldn't possibly have known how great an influence they were to have, they felt they had done their best.. besides the Legion Bar was nearing opening time so they set sail, rather they turned their paddles, and headed for home.

History as told to me by a baritone, so it has to be true.
